The Canadian Bureau for International Education was pleased to award fifty (50) bursaries to attend the virtual CBIE Conference, November 16-20, 2020. The bursary covered the full conference registration fee and was awarded to Indigenous People, People of Color, People with Disabilities and members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

Participation from a diverse audience was a critical measure of the success of our conference.  The purpose of the bursary was to encourage participation from diverse groups. We believe this inclusion was beneficial to everyone involved.

Making our conference inclusive is a continuous learning process. We remain open to suggestions and recommendations and are seeking expert advice on the matter.

Please note that priority was given to individuals working in the field of international education.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be currently located in Canada;
  • Self-identify as Indigenous, a Person of Color, a Person with disabilities or a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community;
